Vegan Environmental Awards

We have our first winners! The January hamper draw has been made and one of our lucky winners, Tamara, is clearly thrilled!

‘I was really surprised to win the vegan hamper, as I had just won £100 in a competition 3 days before this, 2007 looks to be a good year for vegans, well this vegan anyway. Let's hope next year VON (the Vegan Organic Network) will be up there as one of the best ever campaigning organisations. There are so many small groups - like MVVG (the Manchester Vegetarian and Vegan Group) - who really deserve praise for all the excellent work they do, and in a very niche market, I'd like to say how much I appreciate all the hard work they do, so love to all, and thanks for the hamper, Tams’

Last month’s comp for the 12 free Strawberries and Cream lip balms went down a treat, with loads of entries.

Our 12 lucky winners will be receiving one in the post this month. For the March free Yaoh give away, as it’s spring cleaning time, we’ve got 12 bottles of wonderful Yaoh SHOWERGEL up for grabs – this lush gel is full of nice herbs and oils including hemp oil, smells really fresh and minty, and is of course vegan and free from all the nasties.

Just email MARCH WINNER to us at and 12 lucky winners will be notified next month!

The show is shaping up nicely and promises to be lively and fun as well as entertaining and educational. It’s the biggest event of its kind in the Southampton area, and we’re really looking forward to hooking up with friends both old and new just a month before the Bristol fayre.

GertVegan takes a rest….
Paul ‘Gert Vegan’ helped set up the local group last year, as well as helping manage the VeganBristol website, and setting up and running the VeganBristol MySpace page. He has recently stepped down from these tasks to take a well earned rest, and our heartfelt thanks go out to him and his partner Jules for their hard work, commitment, energy and drive that they have put into all things vegan in the area. We are looking forward to seeing them both at the next meet. Cheers drive, splendid effort, very much appreciated from all of us.

VeganBristol website revamp
The local VeganBristol website has been an invaluable tool for many of us, averaging thousands of hits a month, and is in the process of a major revamp, which should be completed by the time this bulletin goes out! The site is set up and managed by Steve from LocalVeggieWeb, who runs this along with 47 other vegan websites across the UK! No wonder they are up for an award in the 007 Vegan Environmental Awards. Big thanks out to Steve and Sophie for all their work on this project – outstanding. The VeganBristol site will now be updated from the Yaoh office, so please contact us with any info. Visit the site here
