Everyone who votes in the Yaoh 007 Vegan Environmental Awards wins the chance to win one of 2 free vegan hampers worth £50 that we are giving away.

You can vote once a month every month until June 07 for your fave vegan products and people by voting here, and every month we’ll draw two winners from everyone who has voted that month. You can also read an update of how the votes are going, click here

March and April’s hampers will both include product donations from KETTLE CHIPS and also MERIDIAN as well as Yaoh hemp products – big thanks to both these firms for their support, appreciated.

Chemical Dub Theory and Se Fire on Main Stage Saturday
5pm sees these two local trip hop legends take the main stage for an eclectic hour of top toons from some of Bristol’s finest. Phat beats and laid back lyrics roll across the Harbourside with consummate ease as these guys show us all how they got it going on, Big Dog Style!!! Harem Nights open the Main Stage 4pm Saturday + Bedouin Tent
We are thrilled to announce that Harem Nights will be opening the Main Stage at 4pm on Saturday, as well as providing a fully – furbished Bedouin Tent with vegan food and drink as well as Moroccan décor and live North African drum circles. Harem Nights Traditional North African band with Belly Dancers takes the Main Stage at 4pm for what promises to be a real thriller, and we extend a warm welcome to Yaron and his team for their stunning contribution to the BVF 07.

Acoustic Stage – Lineup nearly complete
Latest additions to the acoustic stage include the magic of Rubber Ritchie the contortionist, who can literally tie himself up in knots and is a massive hit with the youngsters too, also singer songwriter Denise Morgan from Manchester whose work you can listen to here, and a return by popular demand from our amazing group of Sikh martial artists, lead by the noble Harjinder. Anyone who saw their act last year will be back for more, guaranteed! Click here for further details - more to be announced!!!

ClubYeyo DJ’s in full effect all day Saturday and Sunday
Original toons from back in the day provide the perfect backdrop to the whole escapade as original ClubYeyo toonsters ChrisCross, Mavin and Timba drop classic after classic from both the main stage and the acoustic stage all weekend. Keep an ear peeled especially for the Saturday afternoon ClubYeyo Classics session with ChrisCross on the one’s and two’s, whilst DJ Mavin takes the wheels of steel for the Sunday afternoon Ska Reggae Sunsplash session before Two Tone legends The Beat grace the main stage for the show finale. Meanwhile DJ Timba drops a special early Sunday set dedicated to the animals, to mark the occasion of the world’s biggest vegan event.

Healing Area added!!!
Due to many requests from healers and therapists, we have now added a special area to the site on prime location overlooking the waterfront. A selection of therapists will be on hand, so go and treat yourself to a quick 10 minute foot or head and shoulders massage, whilst discovering a whole range of therapies available in the local area. Stalls still available at special discount rates for therapists! Contact the office for availability.

Vegan Bodybuilders Competition!!!

Once again, the awesome power of the Vegan Bodybuilders grace our show, with a Saturday afternoon Shoulder Press competition open to both the boys and the girls, with two £50 vegan hampers up for grabs for the winners! And as a special treat, for the first time in the UK some of the male members of the Vegan Bodybuilders will be performing ‘The Half - Monty’ on the acoustic stage after the competition on Saturday. Loads more additions to the 3 Talks rooms and the Cookery Demos area, including vegan nutritional guru Gareth Zeal, UK kickboxing champion James Southwood, Jane Easton from Viva!, Alex Bourke (author of the Vegetarian Guides series), Sue from Vegetalia doing vegan tapas, Gail from Hempish presenting the History of Hemp, Bristol East MP Kerry McCarthy (vegan), and Julie from Yaoh doing a vegan Sunday dinner cookery class. Assistance Still Required
We are still looking for more Stewards and Helpers for the event – please contact the office for details of what we can offer (free entry, free food, big thanks, massive appreciation and a wage) and what we are looking for (2x 6-hour shifts over the weekend assisting with the public and our Stallholders).

Please help promote the show as much as possible – banners are available on the home pages of both BVF and Yaoh websites and myspace pages, and at the bottom of every email bulletin. We have loads of flyers and posters for the event too – please do contact us with how many you need and we’ll get them straight out for you!!!! Thanks to all our fans who have already helped promote the show, both for this year and in the past. We Love you!!!!!

More Wonderpig!!!
For the latest adventures of our vegan superhero cartoon character Wonderpig…..here, Wonderpig explains the benefits of the Vegan Lifestyle in all its shining glory. Perfect for youngsters and adults alike. Wonderpig will be appearing live both days at the show and will be launching his book too, as well as signing copies. (clever, ain’t they, pigs…..)

VEGAN BRISTOL

Revamped website now live!!!
Fans of our local veganbristol website will have noticed that the whole site has been completely revamped, and now has all the original entries and images from A Vegan Guide To Bristol 06 added, in full colour and detail. This mammoth task has been undertaken by LVW Webmaster maestro Steve and our heartfelt thanks go out to him and partner Sophie for all their hard work here to bring alive the UK’s most popular local vegan website. The website is set up for even complete techno-fools like me to operate but so far I haven’t been brave enough to try updating it but you know what – by the time this bulletin actually goes out, I’ll have mastered it and you will be able to access not only a complete guide to vegan Bristol but also news of the next meet – my birthday!!!!! Last Vegan Bristol Meet
Was at Kate’s house on March 17th – thanks to all of those who came over for the afternoon, it was great to see so many people and share so much decent vegan grub – fair shout, and especially large warm hugs and thanks to Kate and her two fantastic girls Shannon and Holly who hosted the event – we really did appreciate it. Thanks especially to Shannon for escorting me and Poppy to the bus stop afterwards to get the bus home.
